Without faith it is impossible to please God. Our faith is only as good as its object. We must have faith in God. If we are trusting God to do what He says, He always does what He says. We must believe God’s word and believe what God tells us. God gives us the capacity to do what He commands. Is our faith in God or is our faith in faith or ourselves? There are certain things that are given and we need to accept what we have been given by God. If our faith is in God we will be just fine, if we have faith in ourselves we will fail. We must believe, in faith, the truth about God. Just believing what we want to believe about God does not make it true. There is essential content to Biblical faith, however it also must be expressed. We do this through word and action. We will have a hard time if we do the right thing and we will have a hard time if we do the wrong thing. It is much better to suffer for doing right than for doing what is wrong. What we believe is absolutely essential. If we really have faith, it will show up in obedience. God will be glorified.
