The Book of Proverbs has 31 chapters. It is a good thing to read a chapter of Proverbs for every day of the month. If we do not want to learn and gain wisdom, we are foolish. How did Solomon gain his wisdom? Solomon desired wisdom when God asked Solomon him. The purpose of the Proverbs is found in chapter 1 verse 2. These are here so that the wise can become wiser and those who are not wise can become wise. If someone is offering something that you need, take it and say thank you. God's word tells us what we need to do and what kind of world we are living in. The beginning of knowledge is in the fear of the Lord. If we do not have a revelation of who God is, then we will become idolaters who believe that God is sinful like us. We must fear the Lord and worship Him. People will try to get us to do the wrong thing, we are not to give in. We want to side with God even if everyone is going over the cliff. What ever suffering we endure for doing the right thing is much better than the suffering people will endure for eternity for doing the wrong thing. If we value money over people, we will do bad things and will be drawn towards sin. We live in a land and a society that is bent towards greed. We should not accumulate things for ourselves only. We are not to delight in foolishness. Instead we should live disciplined lives. If we go with the crowd, we are heading in the wrong direction. We are to be fashioned into the likeness of Jesus not be concerned with the latest fashion. How to invest your life, listen to Jesus then we can live without fear and do as God says. God offers wisdom, do not be a fool.
