All of God's words are true and He created the large fish that swallowed Jonah. Jonah was running away from God. God is the Creator of everything, where possibly could we go to outrun God? God gave Jonah a command and Jonah disobeyed it. God rules the Universe and He gives man the opportunity to disobey Him, when nature and the spiritual forces of evil cannot. There will always be a way to try to do our own thing, but that does not mean it will turn out the way we hope. If we do not worship the One and true God, whatever we devote ourselves to is a god to us. God takes notice of us and is orchestrating the events in our life. God is sovereignly working out His plan for good to those who love Him, for destruction for those who hate Him. Others can suffer by our bad decisions. Does it occur to us that sometimes we run away from what God wants us to do? It is foolish to try to outrun God. May we do what God says. Do not resist God, we cannot outrun God.
