Jesus feeding the 5,000 is the only miracle this is in all four gospel books. Wear Valley Ranch’s school is named St. Andrew’s School based on Andrew from this passage. Jesus had compassion for the people even when He was tired. Jesus met the greatest need that the people had, that was for them to know who He was and is. We are all dependent on Jesus all the time and God wants us to continue to learn that our dependence is on Him. We might tell God that we don’t have enough, however, a question that God often asks us is "What do we have?” Are we focused on what we don’t have or what we do have? We are headed for mistakes if our focus is on what we cannot have. God loves to place us in situations where we realize our dependence on Him. Jesus performs His miracles in the context of obedience. We open ourselves up to miracles when we obey God. We must give thanks in all things. When disaster strikes, it is an opportunity for God to do something great!
