Not worrying is not advice, it is a command. If we are in Christ, we are not to worry about our lives. This is explained in verses 19-24 of Matthew chapter 6. What do we treasure? What are we supposed to treasure? We are to live as strangers and aliens in this world, we are to travel light. How do we store up treasures in Heaven, we give. When we invest in what God gives us by helping other people, God will reward us. We are to give to people who are genuinely in need, God promises He will repay. Moths eat the clothes in storage. Rust attacks metal in storage. We should not hang on to things we are not going to use, likewise, we are not to collect things we are not using. We must be careful what we hold on to. We also need to be careful in what are eyes are looking at. God will supply all our needs. If we serve the Lord, God will take care of us. That is a fact. God will meet our needs, every time. We cannot serve both God and money, so don’t serve money, serve God! The best thing we can possibly do is obey and serve God. The smartest financial decision we can make is to obey God, He will take care of us. If we are followers of Jesus, we are more than His creation, we are His children. Worry is fruitless and it is sin. Our focus is to be doing His will, then He will provide the rest of what we need.
